Solarsoft Announces New Software for Consumer Packaging Manufacturers

Vancouver, BC, Canada – July 22, 2009 –Solarsoft Business Systems, a leading developer of core business software solutions for the packaging manufacturing industry worldwide, announced today a new software release for Solarsoft Accelerate™, a management information software system for the consumer packaging manufacturing industry.  This latest release incorporates a variety of new features and functions, including enhanced shop floor data collection and scheduling functionality, and improved assembly process cost calculations.

With improved finished goods traceability on the shop floor, the new enhancements help packaging manufacturers control over-runs and save on costs.  New assembly process cost calculation options allow flexible and immediate calculation of costs for hand work assembly processes.  Users can enter details for assembly hand work ‘on the fly,’ and include these hard-to-capture costs in estimates, production order routes, or any of the design, layout or assembly standards.  Additional cost savings are available through new scheduling enhancements that enable the utilization of like-job attributes for cost reductions in make-ready times.
